In case of physical injury

Do this immediately

  1. STABILIZE the injured person using first aid if you can
  2. CONTACT Security [(410)516-7777] using a lab phone, your cell phone or an emergency blue-light phone
  3. TELL the operator:
    1. Location of incident
    2. What is happening or happened
    3. Who was injured
    4. Nature and severity of injury
    5. Name of responsible lab manager or PI
  4. MAINTAIN CONTACT with the injured person; keep them as calm and comfortable as possible
  5. WAIT WITH INJURED PERSON for Security and emergency responders
  6. PROVIDE INFORMATION to responding Security officer as needed

Do this when the situation is stabilized

  1. CONTACT your lab manager and PI
  2. WRITE DOWN everything you remember about the incident
